MotoGP Aragon: 'It would be nice to have a race' - Rea

Repsol Honda stand-in rider Jonathan Rea says he is happy with his seventh place on the grid for tomorrow's Aragon MotoGP but is hoping to have some sort of race in Spain instead of lapping on his own as he did at Misano.

The Irishman has closed the gap to poleman Jorge Lorenzo and is only a second off the pace despite having only another hour's dry track time on Casey Stoner's RC213V.

"I want to be closer to the front guys and come away from this experience having learned something. It would be nice to be involved in a race. In Misano, I was three and four seconds back off Nicky and I got close but not close enough to race," said Rea, speaking at Aragon this evening.

"It would be nice to get involved and hopefully 23 laps will pass faster than it did in Misano. We have a little bit of a race setup we are happy with. There are some areas we can improve. I was able to concentrate on qualifying, putting a tyre in and getting the best out of it.

"The gap (to the front) is something that is always decreasing. I've no doubt that with more time we can get even closer but for me today, it's not a bad job and I'm satisfied."
