Bancaja Aprilia's Bradley Smith fought back to claim fourth place in this morning's MotoGP 125cc race at Brno after suffering a huge near-highside on the opening lap.
Smith lost the rear of his RSA250, saved it but bashed his lower body on the tank and slipped back from third place to sixth. After getting involved in a scrap with team-mate Sergio Gadea and Efren Vasquez, he managed to pull clear of the pack and had a lonely race to secure fourth.
After a race-long scrap, championship leader Julian Simon and Nicolas Terol managed to drop Andrea Iannone with four laps to go. It was then a straight dice between two with Terol leading.
Simon was clearly faster in the second half of the lap but Terol could stretch away in the first and as they crossed the line to start the last lap, Terol's bike proved slightly quicker than Simon's.
After shadowing Terol for the lap, Simon looked to get past in a couple of places but the Jack and Jones Aprilia was just too quick and Simon had to settle for second with Iannone third.
A five-man dice for fifth ended with Pol Espargaro crossing the line ahead of Sandro Cortese, Stefan Bradl, Marc Marquez and the last Bancaja Aprila of Sergio Gadea.
Scott Redding finised in 15th as the last points scorer after shooting up with 13th place from his sixth-row grid position and Danny Webb was one place behind on the De Graaf Aprilia.
