MotoGP Indy: No Misano test for Rossi as 'nothing is ready'

Marlboro Ducati's Valentino Rossi has ruled out testing the Desmosedici GP12 MotoGP bike at Misano after the next round as there aren't enough development parts available to make it worthwhile but he says the team will test the 2012 bike again in the near future.

The Italian is clearly looking to the future and next year as he indicated there is very little time between now and the major Valencia test after the season is over but added the bike he rides in Spain will be different again from the one at Qatar's opening round.

"We need some big step for to try and fight for the victory, especially with Lorenzo, Stoner and also with Dani. We work and now is an important period because we need to have a clear idea about the bike of next year for Valencia test after the last race so we don't have a lot of time," said The Doctor.

"The bike of Valencia is not the same bike of Qatar next year but we need to understand which way to follow and I think we will not test in Misano because nothing is ready but we will try, I don't know where, at another track with some new parts. Misano test is too tight.

"Speaking with Filippo (Preziosi, team boss), he have three or four different ideas to try, different configurations of the bike: small modify, medium modify, big modify… he have to decide. He is the man, I am the rider, I have to wait for what he brings next time. My part is to be precise and give direction for the next evolution."
