MotoGP Portimao II: Miller aiming to ‘put it all together’

Jack Miller’s hopes for a successful Misano faded after just four laps but the Australian is determined for more on the Algarve.

Ducati and his Lenovo liveried squad remain in the fight for both team and constructors championships, with Miller out for himself and aiming for third overall now Fabio Quartararo has claimed the individual title.

“Well, I think it should be a good one,” Miller said simply on this weekend’s action. "If we can put together the same plan like we did in Misano all weekend or Texas, the one before that. Or let's say the last six races, where we've been super strong all weekend and then just haven't been able to put it together in the race.

“Would be fantastic if we can put it all together, will be really, really nice. Been working really hard throughout the week trying to finish this season off strong. We'll see what happens. Just trying to approach it with an open mind.

“Everything is sort of off the table now, so I can just focus on my own job, trying to do my own thing which is try to claw back the 26 points to Mir and third in the championship. I still feel like that's a possible feat. Not easy but in MotoGP these days anything can happen, so we just need to keep positive and put ourselves in the right position, that’s the goal.”

Discussing the recent trip, and fall, in Misano, Miller was reflective.

“I feel a little bit like that one was the one that got away,” he admitted. “Okay, I don't think I could have won, simply because of the circumstances but yeah, there's some things that we would have done differently, I think. Looking back on it, I think tyre selection being one of the main topics but that's in the past. We can't do too much about it.

"There's no point in dwelling on it we just got to keep working forward and learn from that. Especially if we want to be stronger in next year's championship.”
