Pedro Acosta is 'quite happy with the things that he tried' at the Sepang Test and now needs to 'put the pieces together'.
KTM provided their four MotoGP riders with plenty of development parts for the Sepang Test. Pedro Acosta believes that the amount of testing he did proves that 'everything is fine' at KTM.
Despite the financial crisis that KTM are in and the fact they entered self-administration did leave a feeling of doubt surrounding the Australian manufacturer. However, their young superstar is happy with how things are currently and believes they have decided on '60% of the race bike'.
The Spaniard and the rest of the KTM camp will now go away and decide on the remaining 40% of the bike before the Thailand Test next week.
"60% of a race bike," Acosta said when asked how close the race package was to being finalised.
"At the moment, I’m quite happy with the things that we tried. But the problem is now we have to use a filter and know what pieces to put together.
"But we have to be happy, because after you boys [the media] made a mess around [the KTM situation] now you can see everything is fine. For this, we have to be happy and calm."
Acosta's Sepang Test got off to a rocky start but the work he completed on Friday 'saved the test'. The 20-year-old finished the test in sixth place with a 1:57.175 to his name.
"At the end we tried many things," Acosta stated.
"Also yesterday we had a lot of problems in the morning and the work in the afternoon was quite tricky to say a clear conclusion.
"But anyway, we saved more or less the test. Quite happy because were fast in all the conditions, in all the moments around the day and with good pace. For this, we have to be happy."
