Rain has brought Barcelona’s MotoGP test to a halt with riders and teams now packing up and going home as no meaningful work can be carried out on the wet track.
The day began dry but after a couple of hours the clouds rolled in and garages were soon filling up with machinery, which were then emptied into waiting artics ready to move on to Assen.
Cal Crutchlow was disappointed at the arrival of poor weather: “We knew there was a possibility of some rain, but it’s like you need Noah’s Ark out there.
“We had some things to test, not new parts, but some settings we wanted to try. I didn’t feel well either after picking up food poisoning last night, so in the end I only really completed four full laps.
“We need to keep working hard because we come off the back of a bad run of results, two of which haven’t been our fault. Our pace is the best of the satellite bikes without a shadow of a doubt, and we’re also close to the factory Honda guys so we can go to Assen with high hopes.”
