Gold and Goose

Davide Brivio confirmed that Wilco Zeelenberg is set to leave Trackhouse Racing.

Davide Brivio has announced that Wilco Zeelenberg will leave the Trackhouse Racing team at the end of 2024.

Zeelenberg has been inside the Trackhouse Racing team since the original Petronas SRT Yamaha team arrived in 2019. However, at the end of the 2024 season, he will leave the satellite Aprilia team after only its first year as Trackhouse Racing.

The Trackhouse Racing team principal Davide Brivio confirmed the departure to MotoGP.com pit lane reporter Simon Crafar. Brivio stated that it had been 'very hard to come to this conclusion' and that Trackhouse Racing needed to go in a 'different direction'.

“This (Zeelenberg’s departure) is something that we discussed,” Brivio said. “We took this decision. A big credit to Wilco (Zeelenberg) for what he’s done.

“Honestly speaking, I arrived and I found a team that he has built through the years, and the team also, for the most part, is not going to change next year, so a big credit for what he has built up.

“As Trackhouse, we thought that maybe, going to the future, we had to find some different direction. It’s sad from one side, it’s business on the other side. It’s always a difficult situation, and it’s been very hard to come to this conclusion.”
