The Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia Ayrton Senna could host a MotoGP round in 2026.

Reports suggest that the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia Ayrton Senna could become the latest venue to hold a Brazilian MotoGP round.

GRANDE PREMIO has reported that Dorna and the government of Goiás have reached an agreement to schedule a MotoGP round in Brazil as soon as 2026.

“The signing of the agreement to bring the category to the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia Ayrton Senna will take place on December 12th and will last for five years,” the website adds

There has not been a Brazilian MotoGP round since the 2004 season when Jacarepagua hosted the Rio de Janeiro Grand Prix.

However, the Brazilian Grand Prix dates back to the 1987 season when Goiania hosted the event from 1987 to 1989. Then Interlagos took over for the 1992 season, Jacarepagua was the last host as they ran the event from 1995 to 2004.

The latest Brazilian Grand Prix proposal came after meetings between the government of Goiás and Dorna at this year’s Dutch TT at Assen. Further meetings then took place with Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta in Madrid.

The deal would see the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia Ayrton Senna host the Brazilian Grand Prix in 2026, 2027 and 2028. With an option to extend the running of the Grand Prix into 2029 and 2030.
