Despite his problems in yesterday’s MXGP qualification race at Valkenswaard that will see him go to the line back in 19th place, Red Bull KTM’s Jeffrey Herlings appears to be completely unfazed.
“There was something wrong,” said the Dutchman. “Obviously I went down and came in [to Pit Lane]. I thought I had a broken wheel which it wasn’t but it doesn’t matter – it is racing and things like that happen. I’m feeling good, I’m feeling strong so I just need two good starts and work from there.”
He’ll have to contend with an on-form Jeremy Van Horebeek who put his Monster Energy Yamaha on pole.
“The track suites me well,” he said. “I feel good and you know on this kind of track you just have to enjoy and ride smooth because if you ride too aggressive you won’t go fast. It was a good day, I had a good start and I think that is the key, just to start in the top three and ride your own race.”
