There’s almost a whole week to sort out Christmas gifts, so this is maybe a little premature. But the good guys from Bologna have released details on a new Special Edition version of its 959 Panigale superbike. Just 25 of the fancy super-middleweight twins will be brought into the UK in either ‘basic’ form, or a double-trick ‘carbon’ version.

The main attraction is a smart Akrapovic titanium race silencer, which comes with appropriately-reshaped lower fairing panels. So you drop some mass, get rid of the style-free stock pipes, while improving both power and acoustics. There’s fancy levers, a double bubble screen, single-seat cowl, and loads more trinketry on there too. The carbon version, obviously, has a stack of carbon fibre add-ons.
