2009 GSX-R TROPHY BILLED AS A CREDIT-CRUNCH BUSTER

This year's ACU GSX-R Trophy is being touted as a credit-crunch busting race series as the 10-round championship will only cost £3500 to enter.

And Suzuki dealers are being encouraged to get behind the series with entrants able to get a racebike for £5170 including VAT which means the whole show costs £9000, £4000 less than 2008.

An ACU spokesman said: "If you own a 2007 or 2008 GSX-R trophy bike then the cost to enter the 2009 Championship is limited to £175 entry and £175 per set of tyres per round.

"That means if you take part in all 10 rounds and buy a set of tyres for each round you are on the grid on a competitive bike and going for glory in a well-supported, manufacturer backed Championship."

To take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to go racing, you must register - downloadable forms are available from www.gsxrtrophy.co.uk

Each Registered Rider will receive a Championship Registration Pack that will include special offers from parts suppliers who have previously supplied bodywork, suspension and other parts to the Championship. All tyres must be purchased from the official supplier – Dunlop – at a round, but can be used at later meetings if serviceable.

With a generous cash prize fund of £10,000 along with additional round by round cash awards, the incentive to go racing with the ACU Suzuki GSX-R Trophy is better than ever before – especially when you consider you can use your race bike to enter other events as and when you want – you own the bike.

If you would like to speak with someone about the series you can visit your local Suzuki Dealer or contact the ACU Road Race Department on 01788 566406 or rr@acu.org.uk.
