The Race of the Year was revived in 2011 with the trophy that features the very best names in bike racing for the last 30-years going to rising World Supersport star Sam Lowes from Lincoln ahead of 2012 MotoGP star James Ellison.
The date for the 2012 event will be published soon and it will be an invitational event for the best riders and bikes. Competitors will be taken from numerous disciplines to take part in an Open Class race that allows different capacities of machines the rare opportunity to compete with each other.
