Pole sitter Ross Connolly has won the first round of the R&G Racing Suzuki GSX-R600 Trophy at Donington Park today. He lead from the off and was never headed beating second place man Mark Cheetham over the line by a healthy 8 seconds. The final step on the podium went to Tom Gazzard who was a slim 0.3 seconds off second place.
Connolly won the Pole Position Award picking up a £50 voucher for Force Field Body Armour redeemable at Stamford Superbikes. He also set the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1min42.5secs and won himself a Suzuki watch in the process.
The Express Insurance Novice of the day award went to Duncan Bedwell who finished fourth. He was also awarded the Relentless Rider of the day award as he was picked out by race commentator Fred Clarke as the most entertaining rider of the race.
The next round of the R&G Racing GSX-R Trophy is on Sun 24th - Mon 25th May at Snetterton.
