The Ducati 848 Challenge heads to the spectacular and challenging Cadwell Park circuit this Bank Holiday weekend with Leon Morris (Buildbase/JHP Ducati) sitting comfortably on a 50-point lead ahead of veteran Mike Edwards (MSKworks.com).
Despite this healthy lead, Morris has had to scrap every inch of the way this season and will not expect life to be made any easier as the Championship heads towards its closing stages.
Leading the challenge again will be Mike Edwards who showed his pace at Brands Hatch with a brace of second places and a pole position. Robbie Brown (Ducati Manchester) has come into form over the last few races and will hope to improve on the third and fourth he had to settle for at Brands Hatch. Kenny Gilbertson (Art of Racing/ Boast Plumbing) will hope to continue his rich vein of form and look for consecutive victories following his win at the last round.
A resurgent and current title holder Darren Fry (Buildbase/JHP Ducati) will no doubt have one eye on the championship table, good results this weekend could see the popular Daventry man moving into third in the Championship. Another rider moving in the right direction is Dan Hopkins (Havoc Racing) who posted his season’s best results at Brands Hatch with two sixth places, while Aaron Brown (Ladybirds Ducati) and Jamie Poole (Moto Rapido) have also come on strongly in recent weeks.
The sixth round of the Rapid Solicitors Ducati 848 Challenge takes place this Bank Holiday weekend at Cadwell Park, with the second race broadcast live on Eurosport 2 on Monday at 1.35pm.
