Faber gets the Crafar treatment at Cartagena test

Superteen challenger Shane Faber got the Simon Crafar treatment during a three-day test at Cartagena which allowed half a dozen youngster to get to grips with their Aprilias.

Twelve year old Faber from Henstridge in Somerset is continuing to ride under the management of JDF Racing in the 2014 Aprilia series. Faber was by the second day fastest of the group achieving low 1.57 lap times apart from a minor tip off on day one Faber learnt the technical track quickly impressing onlookers by his corner speed on his Magnum Motorsport tuned Aprilia.

By the final day however Trystan Finocchiaro had posted the fastest lap of the three day session to push Faber back to second fastest Superteen rider.

Spending valuable tracktime with former Grand Prix star Crafar Faber put in to practise the guidance provided by Crafar who was impressed with the level of improvement in lap times over the three day test. Faber is to complete in the Superteen series with a possible wildcard ride in the Moriwaki Junior Cup later on in the year.

"Shane is improving quickly and we hope to put that to good use in the Aprilia Challenge over the coming season, to ultimately enable him to enter the Moriwaki Junior Cup at a reasonably competitive level, Honda car dealer Ash Honda of Yeovil have provided the support to purchase a refurbished Junior Cup MD250H Moriwaki machine which he will practise on at the appropriate time," said team boss John Davies.
