Nuneaton's Leon Jeacock has ended his 2009 club season on a high, taking victory on his Yamaha YZF-R6 at the New Era meeting at Mallory Park last weekend.
The 21-year-old, who was riding the 600 for the first time, beat his rivals in the first race of the day to take the chequered flag two seconds ahead of the second place rider. A third place in his final outing of the day meant he finished in the runner up spot in the 600 class.
“I’m delighted to finish the season with a win here at Mallory Park, my new bike has gone really well, I felt comfortable and confident riding it, and it’s really quick, so I now have to build on this ready for the start of the new season," said Jeacock.
“I’ve had an incredible season; sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure it is all real! Winning three Club Championships is just amazing, but none of it would have been possible without the support of my team, family and sponsors, and I cant thank them enough for believing in me, in the way that they do – without them, none of what I’ve achieved this year would have been possible.
“The ‘Business Partnership’ is going really well and we will be announcing a new investor for the 2010 season within the next few weeks. It’s an exciting time for me and I can’t wait for to get back on the racetrack in the New Year."
