Dubbed as Northern Ireland’s first lady of motorcycle racing, Omagh’s Nicole McAleer is shedding her youngster imagine to release a talented young lady. In a deal signed recently with Shoei helmets, the soon to be 16 year old will be promoting Shoe’s new range of XR 1000 Papillion helmets, designed specifically for the female market.
McAleer unveiled the two new helmets at the Ballymoney Bike Show on Saturday. The helmets which have butterfly motifs on either side of the visor, are in two contrasting colours. The first is a deep blue shade, which is the helmet the teenager will be starting the season with, and then midway through the British 125 Championship she will switch to the girlie pink version.
During the show McAleer was also given a small financial boost from money raised via a fireside quiz and pick a square competition, were almost £300.00 was raised to help the teenager race this season. Anyone else who would like to help out in anyway should contact her family via her website.
