Up-and-coming teenager star Rowan Miller has made it through the to final group of riders to be selected for the Red Bull Rookies in 2009.

Miller, who is about nine, travelled to the Adria circuit in Italy to battle it out for a place in the final selection group at Estoril later in the year – but it was a nailbiting time for the youngster.

His dad Gary said: "It was two days of hard work for Row. He was up against some very good riders from the UK but we got through. I was sitting in the airport waiting to come home when we got the phone call. I told Row what had happened and all he could do was giggle."
Miller went through two days of track assessment on bikes he had never ridden before and in searing heat. And he had never seen the track either. Despite all this, Miller managed to impress the assessors and will be in Portugal for the final group tests.
