NORTHERN IRELAND MOTOSIX TEAM TAKE A BATTERING AT MONDELLO

Northern Ireland's entry into this weekend's MotoSix Nations at Donington Park received a battering at Mondello Park this weekend with both Denver Robb and Marshall Neill now unable to take part.

Robb crashed his MAR-Train Suzuki during one of the Irish Superbike races while Neill came off a borrowed bike at the event. He wasn't injured but the bike is seriously damaged.

Supersport rider John Anderton also had a spill and may have broken some ribs. He will be able to assess his fitness for the meeting later on today. Alastair Kirk had a minor off and is ready for the weekend.

Marty Nutt was involved in a hefty collision in the opening Supersport race and had to sit out the second but he will travel to Donington Park. Alastair Seeley also had an off but will be fit for the weekend.

"We have taken a hefty battering to say the least. I am waiting on confirmation tonight from John Anderton, and I am waiting on word back from another two riders whom we are hoping to draft into the team. One way or the other, we will have our teams at Donington," said captain Kirk Jamison.

Coleraine rider James Dickson will replace Robb in the team while Michael Pearson has been hit by a bout of flu.  Speaking from his bed on last night, Pearson said: "Come hell or high water, I will be at Donington."
