World records were smashed during the Brands Hatch, season-opening Bemsee event, by the amazing Stephanie Waddelow.
Starting only her second race season, Stephanie grabbed pole position in the MRO Superteens and then went on to claim two victories, a feat unequalled by any female rider in the history of bike racing.
Flossy, Steph’s nom de guerre, was made to fight hard for her successes by the super-talented Jack Blake, who set fastest laps and shared the lead in both the races, before having to give best to the young lady from Cambridgeshire.
The shy teenager was rewarded not just with trophies for her wins, but with the Rod Harwin Rider of the Day award, and a brand new achievement award, courtesy of Steve Jordan Motorcycles, voted for by all the Marshals and Medics.
