Thundersport will run the first national women’s championship in 2013, backed by barnet attire firm Buff and its subsidiary $ueMe.
bikesportnews.com and Thundersport ran a successful women-only race at Brands Hatch back when all this was fields and boss Dave Stewart has taken the idea several steps further with a whole championship.
"There are more females racing bike in this country than you might actually think and they all pit their wits on equal terms against their male counterparts in championships across the UK, albeit their numbers are somewhat scattered," said Stewart.
"Now the girls can gain BUFFWOMAN points whatever championship they choose to race in at Thundersport GB from fresh-faced Aprilia Superteens, Aprilia RRV450GP, Supertwins, Thundersport 500, Formula & Superstock 600s, right through to the fast and furious GP1.
"Don’t think for a moment these girls are in any way uncompetitive, their effort, grit anddetermination is so great, they race these intercontinental ballistic missiles faster than most men could even dream of."
