FireplaceWarehouse/Maxileads Metals rider Joel Williams will be looking to continue the form that took him to pole position and a race win during the previous round at Pembrey.
However the injury that he sustained in Wales during race two continues to be incomfortable and a minor annoyance. That aside Joel is looking forward to returning to his and the teams local track, and a track that is sure to provide close, exciting racing in the 125cc GP class.
Racing out of the same garage is 15-year-old Tom Carne racing under the Fireplace-Warehouse/Petra Hellas banner. Tom’s form and confidence has grown exponentially during the first third of the season. Tom rode like a man possessed during the Pembrey meeting. His efforts led him to start the televised races on the same row as his team mate.
Having both tellow and green machines on the front row was a proud moment for all involved with the team as was seeing them one and two on track during the race.
One thing is clear though and that’s Joel and Tom will have a tough fight on there hands as there are numerous riders who have the potential to do well and win races. The chal-lenge is obvious as is the determination that the two teenagers have to be on the top step of the podium.
Team boss Adrian Mason: “Our bike has been stripped following the crash at Pembrey and is looking good. We have adjusted a few things on the bike to suit Oulton and we’ll use the Friday test day to nail down the chassis settings to Joel's liking. This is our home round and we are hoping to have plenty of support at the event from our sponsors, friends and family."
Joel Williams: “My win at Pembrey was the perfect way to pay the team and our sponsors back for all there ef-forts. I’d like to thank Steve at A & M leathers for taking the time to repair my leathers after the spill at Pembrey. Such support is really appreciated and I am thank full to Steve for sorting this out for me."
