Italian Luigi La Vecchia will return to the RRV450 series at Thundersport's Pembrey meeting this coming weekend after a lay off with a shoulder injury.

As a result of a cracked should sustained at the WSB support race at Donington park in March La Vecchia has been forced to sit and watch the action. Now fully fit Luigi has been testing the JDF 450 at Mallory and Pembrey earlier this month.

Team boss John Davies said: 'Luigi showed no sign of problems with the injury after the tests at Mallory and Pembrey so all being well he will have a good return to the series in Wales."

Team rider in the Superteen series Ryan McAdam suffered a broken hand at the last round at Snetterton and will be return to the Challenge at the Brands Hatch round.

For 2011 McAdam will compete in the Superteen Challenge on JDF prepared machines with support from Magnum Motorsport in the engine department. McAdam will also test the 450 during 2012 with a view to competing in the RRV 450 Challenge in 2013.

Coventry based hi-tech battery manufacturer Racing Batteries is to provide JDF Racing with technical support for the remainder of 2011 and 2012. Based on the latest technology of Lithium based batteries Racing Batteries produce powerful lightweight batteries for track and road use.

Colm Watling of Racing Batteries said: “Our products aim at improving the performance of the race machine by weight reduction, our lithium based battery is around one third of the weight of a lead-acid battery, on some of the large capacity sports bikes the weight of the battery is fairly significant with the weight usually in the wrong place.

"As part of an overall weight reduction exercise our batteries can shed a couple of kilos off the bike the less weight the engine has to drag round the increase in track performance is measurable.”
