ThundersportGB will break another record at its Cadwell Park meeting on May 17 when it has not one but two of the country’s best prospects competing in it’s Superteen series – except neither of them are teenagers.
Sunni Wilson (11) and Wayne Ryan (12) have both been given special dispensation by the ACU to ride in the class that weekend – much to the delight of series’ boss Dave Stewart.
He said: “Sunni is already an accomplished rider, having competed in Mini Moto and Conti Cup machines at a variety of Karting venues. It was no cake-walk for Sunni to be given this dispensation, he had to be assessed on track and in a classroom environment by three separate ACU licensed officials before his request could even be considered.
Thundersport and Rob Wilson (Sunnis dad) would like to thank the ACU and Team Aprilia for giving a talented young rider this opportunity.”
Wayne is also no stranger to the track and Stewart says that some insiders reckon he could be bike racing’s answer to Lewis Hamilton. He has performed brilliantly at mini-moto level and is “definitely a one to watch”, says Stewart.
