CIA BIKE INSURANCE GP1 & SUPERTWINS

Peter Baker won three from three races this weekend as he shot to the top of the points standings ahead of a disappointed Gary May, who had set-up problems all weekend.

Local rider Baker didn’t have things his own way though, Rob Hoyles and Stuart Hall were in close pursuit all weekend and although Baker set a new lap record for Thundersport GB with a 1.08.555, the chasing pair were never far behind, with Hall finishing just 0.036 of a second behind Baker in race three.

Rob Elsmere extended his lead in the championship in the Junior Powerbikes with four out of four wins in the class on his IN competition Aprilia RRV550.

Alex Hutchinson was made to play second fiddle every time as he struggled to get off the line in each race as Sam Coventry and Alan Brown both made podium visits also.

Will Hodgson made his return to the Moto 450 class with two wins to his name and Tim Jones won all four Minitwin races to take his tally to eight for the year and now leads the championship.

BRIDGESTONE THUNDERSPORT 500

Jonathan Harrison made it six wins in a row to extend his championship lead over John Butcher to 35 points overall. Butcher limited the damage by claiming four second places but will need to step it up a gear at Donington if he wants to claim this title.

Matt Bainbridge, Barry Rudge and Jordan Whatling all enjoyed podium visits and are upping the pace required to challenge the likes of Butcher and Harrison.

Wayne Ryan, Matt Davies and Lee Jackson dominated the weekends proceedings at Snetterton this weekend to put real pressure on championship leader Andy Reid.

Reid only made one appearance on the podium as Ryan’s tenth podium and fifth win of the season means the difference between Reid and Ryan in the points is the lowest it has been all season at just 23 points.

Newcomer Tommy Mountain secured his first ever podiums also and now moves into the top ten of the championship.

Michael Price won his first two races in the Formula 600 championship to move within two points of the overall lead in the standings this weekend at Snetterton.

Price grabbed 70 precious points at the Norfolk circuit and has given himself a bit of breathing space over rivals Chris Mort, Darryl Cox and James Henry in the championship.

E2E SOLUTIONS GP3

Tom Weeden was in fine form this weekend to take two from three wins at Snetterton, his first ever overall GP3 victories.

Championship leader Fraser Rogers had a mixed weekend with two podiums and a DNF caused by a puncture, as he is now forced to try and defend a slender eight point lead over Sam Hornsey, who pinched a race win on Sunday to prevent a Weeden treble.

PIRELLI SUPERSTOCK 600

Dan Miles grabbed two second place finishes and his fifth win of the year to extend his lead in the championship to a healthy 89 points in the Pirelli Superstock 600 championship.

Tom Gazzard and Erol Ahmet had both found some good form but were overshadowed by Michael Russell and Alex Barkshire, who both took maiden victories at Snetterton.

GiMOTO STREETFIGHTER A & B

Jamie Wilkins won his 13th race of the year at Snetterton to move to within 36 points of championship leader Andy Denyer, whose 18 podiums from 18 races, secures his name at the top of the standings still.

In Streetfighter B, Barry Utting extended his lead in the points table to 61 points over Ian Popplewell, but Craig Morley’s recent run of seven wins means he now moves up to third and will be difficult to beat over the course of the next three rounds.
