Gary Johnson and Ryan Farquhar will be joining the bill this Easter at Thundersport GB’s Donington meeting with the TT stars pencilled in to compete in the GP1 Elite category.
Easter has usually saw the beginning of the British motorcycling season, notably the BSB opener in recent years but with Silverstone’s curtain-raiser not coming until April 8-10 the action on offer from Thundersport is a perfect precursor for fans wanting to savour some racing.
With the likes of Johnson and Farquhar in tow, along with fellow Isle of Man TT regular Dan Hegarty and Irish Superbike Champion Eoghan Delaney as well as the GP1 Elite regulars it looks set to be a cracking affair at Donington.
Thrown into the bargain, Thundersport have decided to price tickets at £5 entry plus program. You can find tickets for Sunday here and Monday here.
The Easter schedule of racing will see a whopping programme of 38 races over both Sunday and Monday, featuring the quality GP1 Elite series, 600s, golden era superbikes and super twins.
Also on the bill is the prestigious Aprilia Challenge, a championship that has helped kick-start the careers’ of riders as illustrious as Casey Stoner, Tom Sykes and Cal Crutchlow among many others.
“We really want casual spectators to come along and see that the kind of racing we do is very different from the old style club racing they might remember. We now have 78 Thundersport GP1 (Superbikes) entered, trying for 24 spaces on the Robert Fearnall Trophy Races. So the racing will be very tight,” said Thundersport boss Dave Stewart.
