WAITING LIST FOR 2009 APRILIA SUPERTEEN SERIES

ThundersportGB's Aprilia Superteen class now has a waiting list of 11 young riders as the series' 56-place allocation is full. Riders from England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland are joined this year by one rider from Australia and two more on the waiting list from South Africa.

"The last Australian to enter the series was a certain Casey Stoner and young Matthew Davies from Melbourne is hoping to follow in Casey's rather successful footsteps," said Thundersport boss Dave Stewart.

"South African Brad Binder rode in the series last year and helped himself in his quest for a place in the MotoGP Red Bull Rookies Championship."

Last year's Superteen Champion Fraser Rogers has also stepped up into the Rookies but will compete in the Thundersport GP3 class on a Magnum Motorsport/JDF Racing 125 Grand Prix machine.

This team is part of the new Thundersport GB/JDF Racing Acadamy for young riders. The team is jointly funded by Thundersport GB, IN Competition, JDF Racing, Magnum Motorsport, Nitro Helmets, Dunlop Tyres and HRT Commercials.

"All these people share the belief that Britain has some really talented youngsters that are well worth investing time and money in and that the place to find those riders is in the Aprilia Superteen Championship," added Stewart.

"They are obviously not alone in that belief as enquiries are being received weekly from riders based in many other countries about securing a slot on the grid in what has become generally acknowledged as the best junior race series in the world."
