ROBERT DUNLOP | TRIBUTE NIGHT HAILED A SUCCESS

Daniel, Michael and William Dunlop would like to extend their greatful thanks to all who came to the fundraising night at the Carikdale Hotel on Saturday night, nearly 800 people turned out on what was a very cold nightand foggy night, but all enjoyed the warm atmosphere in side the venue.

Thanks to Ian Lougher Jim Moodie and Phillip McAllen (and to Guy Martin who got to the airport but was prevented from flying due to the weather conditions) for participating in the chat show and bringing back some good memories of their races with Robert.

Thanks too to all the donors of items for the auction, there were 60 items listed plus nearly another 40 more appeared on the night. Too many in fact to get through and the family are discussing how to distribute the remainder.

Amongst the highest priced items, a large pub mirror listing Robert’s major successes went for £1500 pounds, A pair of Robert’s racing leathers, a weeks stay and travel to the Isle of Man for TT 2009 were also near the top.

There were numerous Pictures, photographs and items of clothing as well as some of Roberts old team shirts, a framed JPS Norton shirt going for nearly £200. Hospitality tickets to the HM Plant suite at the TT raising nearly £500.

Once again a sincere thank you to all for the support shown and the generosity of the racing community on behalf of the Dunlop family
