ROSSI'S TEAM TO TEST NEW ENGINE TREATMENT

Valentino Rossi's Fiat Yamaha team the British-based Crescent Racing squad are to begin testing a new engine treatment that claims to improve engine efficiency and improve power and torque.

Microlon, which has already been tried and tested by race teams in the US, works by reducing the friction of moving parts in motors by giving them a coating which is far more efficient than metal-to-metal contact.

"Do not confuse this product with engine additives which have to be constantly renewed or block your engines filters," said Microlon director Stuart Crane.

"A single treatment gives protection for the life of the engine.  It is added to the fuel and oil systems to firstly clean your engine and subsequently treating the metal surfaces, leaving behind a super-slippery film.

"Metal-to-metal contact is changed to Microlon-to-Microlon contact which is much more efficient, so less energy is used to overcome friction, leaving more energy to drive the engine. Adding Microlon changes the properties of the metal surfaces."

The company claims that some biks have seen a six brake horsepower increase and a corresponding hike in torque.

www.bikesportnews.com will be conducting its own test in the next week, so come back for the results.
