2011 Macau GP: Rains halts qualifying for a second day

Persistent rain at the former Portugese colony of Macau has meant that the grand prix qualification session which was postponed yesterday and due to run at 7.15am local time today has been cancelled and the race is now in serious jeopardy due to the sheer number of others races that have to be run.

The race is due to start at 3.30pm local time (GMT +8) today but all riders have only turned a wheel in anger for an hour in the opening dry practice. Organisers have issued the teams with revised schedules and if it is dry on Saturday afternoon, qualifying can commence and the race can be run on Sunday lunchtime.
