Just like he had done on Tuesday, Michael Dunlop topped the timesheets in the second Superbike qualifying session at the North West 200, his lap of 110.365mph, two seconds quicker than fellow Honda rider Bruce Anstey.
The 40-minute session had been delayed to allow standing water around the course to be cleared but when it got underway, it was Anstey who was quickest out the blocks at 107.326 followed by Alastair Seeley on 107.240 and Gary Johnson on 106.786. After problems on the MSS Kawasaki on Tuesday, Seeley did enough laps to qualify for Saturday's races and will subsequently line up in 21st place giving him plenty of work to do although he will be in the first wave.
Dunlop posted the only 110mph+ lap midway through the session with Johnson and Simon Andrews also improving as the session wore on, the latter also getting in amongst the qualifiers after problems on Tuesday. Guy Martin did one lap at 100.184 which, when combined with his Tuesday outing, will see him line up on the front row of the grid whilst team-mate Josh Brookes posted the sixth fastest lap of the session at 106.046 with his lap on Tuesday meaning he'll start from the second row.
Like all other classes, Tuesday's lap times will form the front few rows of the grid with Martin the only change amongst the top ten.
