Valmoto MV team boss Jack Valentine had a successful Vauxhall North West 200 shakedown for his new team yesterday with only a couple of problems highlighted by rider Gary Johnson's opening runs.
The Lincolnshire rider needs to tweak the chassis to cope with some stability problems caused by high winds but aside from that, Valentine is pleased as it is the bike's second run out after a session at Mallory Park.
“Our primary focus today was making sure we had a good set-up, rather than fast lap times, and we’re feeling really positive about the F3’s performance so far, especially since we’ve only had the bike running once before this event," said Valentine.
"The strong winds led to some stability problems with the bike, particularly at high speeds, but we’re confident we can make some improvements to the chassis so we can really take advantage of the course’s two long straights."
