RAF Reserves Honda man Simon Andrews isn't exactly doing a rain dance ahead of this week's Vauxhall North West 200 but thinks that wet weather could play into his hands in the Superbike races.
The Evesham man will contest both Superstock races with his usual team and also be back on a Supersport bike for the first time since 2006 with Paul Shoesmith's Motorsave Honda squad - a bike he will also ride at the TT.
"It could be tough for us in the Superstock races but John (McGuinness) got a sixth last year so I will be hoping to get into the top ten if it's dry. I am looking forward to getting on the 600 for a ride so I can get used to it for the TT," said Andrews, speaking to bikesportnews.com this afternoon.
"If it is wet for the Superbike races, then we could be in with a shout on the Superstock bike as rain is a great leveller and it could play into our hands. Whichever, I am pleased to be back on the roads."
