Honda Racing’s John McGuinness has admitted that yesterday’s North West 200 was one of toughest of his career to date with his wrist injury making it almost impossible to ride.
The 20-time Isle of Man TT winner didn’t finish either of the two Superbike races, opting to pull in on the final lap of both and he will now undergo further physio on his wrist before practice on Mona’s Isle begins.
“I’m not going to lie, today has been one of the toughest days I’ve ever had in racing. My wrist injury has made things very difficult around this circuit and it was almost impossible for me to push, particularly in the conditions we had today,” said McGuinness.
“I just have to put this behind me and look ahead to the TT. I’ve got another week or so of recovery and physio time so let’s hope I can improve things before we head there.”
