2014 Ulster GP: Superstock pole for Michael Dunlop

Michael Dunlop will line up in pole position for Saturday's Metzeler Superstock Ulster Grand Prix race after setting the only 130mph+ lap in Thursday morning's second qualifying session.

The MD Racing BMW rider topped the majority of the session after a lap of 130.469mph but right in the final seconds, improved that to 131.657mph to end almost three seconds clear of Dean Harrison.

The RC Express Racing rider only managed four laps on Wednesday but had a troublefree session on Thursday with his lap of 129.649mph just edging out Guy Martin, the Tyco Suzuki man completing the front row at 129.605mph. Lee Johnston, Peter Hickman - who didn't record a time on Thursday - and Dan Kneen will make up the second row, the trio the last of the competitors to break the 129mph barrier.

Bruce Anstey was one of the few riders who failed to improve his time, with his lap from Wednesday of 128.715mph seeing him drop from third to seventh with Stephen Thompson, Derek Sheils and Rob Barber completing the top ten overall.

Newcomer Peter Hickman crashed on his out lap at Wheeler's in the Superstock session. He is perfectly ok but made a mess of his Ice Valley BMW.
