2015 NW200: Si Andrews’ dad Stuart makes emotional return

Simon Andrews’ dad Stuart has made an emotional return to the place where his son lost his life last year.

Mr Andrews was in the paddock today for the first practice and says it was important the world understands the people who race at the North West do it because they love it.

“It was obvious I was going to have to come. The rest of the family are still grieving but there are so many things that have gone o. It’s important for us to support the North West and we always will because Simon loved Northern Ireland,” said Mr Andrews.

“He loved the people, he loved racing here. It’s important the rest of the world know these young men actually enjoy the sport and we lost Simon. It might have been a short life but it was an enjoyable one. We must keep it going and I will do whatever I can to make sure it goes forward.”
