Eighth on Tuesday, the Stroud rider moved up to first place with five minutes of Thursday’s session remaining, deposing long time leader Ivan Lintin, with the SB Tuning/Cooper Racing rider enjoying an advantage of 1.8s over Ryan Farquhar who also knocked Lintin back a spot.
“It’s a bit different out there on the big bikes but I just got into a groove on my own and everything was mint,” said Cooper afterwards.

Peter Hickman, having his first ever outing in the class, moved up to fifth overall in the closing stages on the Cookstown BE Racing Kawasaki whilst James Hillier took sixth on the Quattro Plant Muc-Off Kawasaki.
Jeremy McWilliams slotted into seventh overall ahead of Paul Jordan and newcomers Danny Webb and Malachi Mitchell-Thomas.
