2016 North West 200: Cooper claims Supertwin pole

Dan Cooper claimed pole position for the North West 200 Supertwins races with his lap on Thursday morning of 108.114mph seeing him jump up the timesheets.

Eighth on Tuesday, the Stroud rider moved up to first place with five minutes of Thursday’s session remaining, deposing long time leader Ivan Lintin, with the SB Tuning/Cooper Racing rider enjoying an advantage of 1.8s over Ryan Farquhar who also knocked Lintin back a spot.

“It’s a bit different out there on the big bikes but I just got into a groove on my own and everything was mint,” said Cooper afterwards.
