Michael Dunlop extended his unbeaten record at the Armoy Road Races, winning the Race of Legends bringing his career tally to ten wins.

Already a strong favourite to take another victory after triumphing in Friday's Supersport race, Dunlop once more blitzed the field despite the tricky wet conditions.

From the off it was obvious he meant business, his lead at the end of the first lap was 6.4 seconds ahead of his nearest rival Mike Browne (Burrows Engineering/RK Racing BMW),

Lap two saw the difference between him and Browne increase to 11.4 seconds with Derek Sheils hanging on to third, a further two seconds in arrears.

Dunlop stretched his advantage to 11.4s over Browne after the second lap, setting the fastest speed of the race at 98.438mph. Davey Todd was relegated into fifth place when Dean Harrison passed him on his BPE Russell Racing Yamaha R6.

As the conditions deteriorated Dunlop maintained his blistering pace the gap between him and Browne increased  just over 16 seconds.

On the final lap Dunlop eased off a bit but still took the chequered flag 16.9 seconds ahead of Browne. Derek Sheils held on to third 3.1 seconds further down the road with Dean Harrison and Mike Norbury completing the top five. Davey Todd, one of the race favourites, was seventh.

The feature race win ensured a perfect weekend for Dunlop by adding to his Supersport wins, plus a win in the opening Superbike Open race and a win in the Supertwin race earlier in the day making him the most successful rider around the County Antrim circuit with 29 wins.
