2023 Isle of Man TT | Birchalls to lead off Sidecar TT for 100th anniversary race

The 10 seeded drivers and passengers for the 3wheeling.media Sidecar class at the 2023 Isle of Man TT Races have been announced, with the Birchalls once again leading the field off.

Having already confirmed start number for each of the solo classes, it was the turn of the Sidecar category to get their starting orders with the dominant Ben and Tom Birchall assuming their traditional #1 position on the Steadplan/hager LCR Honda.

With 12 wins to their name already - the last nine of which have been consecutive - th Birchalls are the clear favourites coming into this summer’s TT, which runs from 29 May to 10 June 2023.

Their closest competition is likely to come from the two entries starting behind them, with both Peter Founds/Jevan Walmsley (FHO LCR Honda) and Ryan/Callum Crowe (Haven Homes LCR Honda) having pushed the Birchall brothers hardest, each having lapped comfortably over 118mph on average.

Dave Molyneux - the fourth most successful TT competitor of all time with 17 wins to his name - will be back again in 2023 at the controls of the 890cc DMR KTM. He reunites with eight-time winner Dan Sayle and will get away from fourth.

Tim Reeves will also race with a new passenger this year, the 2013 TT winner joined by Mark Wilkes in the Bonovo Action Racing/Carl Cox LCR Yamaha.

Two-time winner John Holden and new passenger, Frenchman Maxime Vasseur, follows up behind them at #6 in the Barnes Racing/Carl Cox Motorsport LCR Yamaha

At number 7, Alan Founds will be looking to add to his double podium tally alongside Jake Lowther in the Spartan Automotive/Indelible Ink LCR Yamaha, while Gary Bryan and Phil Hyde (SWC Groundworks/TTS Support Baker Honda) complete the top eight.

Fastest newcomer of 2022, Lee Crawford is rewarded with a seeded position on his Team ARC Suzuki at number 9, although his passenger is yet to be confirmed. Seasoned veterans Conrad Harrison and Andy Winkle complete the top ten on their Town Garage Horsforth Ireson Yamaha.

The Sidecars class will also feature in 'No Room For Error', a new all-access, four-part documentary filmed during the 2022 Isle of Man TT that will broadcast before this year's TT gets underway - CLICK HERE to watch the trailer
