2025 Isle of Man TT, SBK TT Results: Davey Todd pips Michael Dunlop to SBK TT win

Davey Todd secured a dramatic Superbike TT victory at the 2025 Isle of Man TT as he pipped Michael Dunlop by just 1.296secs to take the trophy.

The 8TEN Racing rider led every lap of the shortened four-lap encounter but had to hold his nerve in the closing stages as he was hunted down by a hungry Dunlop.

The result will bring joy to the team - hastily-arranged prior to the racing season following the disbandment of FHO Racing - after its anticipated lead contender Peter Hickman was forced to withdraw through injury when he crashed on Friday evening.

To his credit, Todd had looked like the strongest prospect on the BMW M 1000 RR but a slow final stop would give Dunlop the whiff of a last gasp win, the Ulsterman getting remarkably close to snatching the success from his rival.

However, Todd would hold form on his Superbike-engined, Superstock-chassis machine, pumping in a 135.416mph on the last tour to resist Dunlop. Dean Harrison completed the podium, a distant 45secs adrift, on the factory Honda CBR1000RR-R.

After a week heavily disrupted by persistent weather woes, the Superbike TT race would eventually kick off some two days after it was due to take place.

Nevertheless, despite the limited track time, the race went to the form book from qualifying practice with Todd and Dunlop resuming their rivalry.

Even so, Todd would be the rider to beat as he extended his advantage to more than seven seconds at one point. However, a poor stop from Todd would turn the tables, Dunlop getting to within 0.269secs at one stage to set up a grandstand finish.

In the end, Dunlop would lose momentum after being wrong-footed by catching Harrison in an awkward place, the TT legend just missing out on victory.

Behind Harrison, Nathan Harrison scored a fine fourth place finish on his H&H Honda, while David Johnson flew the flag high for Kawasaki in fifth place.

James Hillier placed his Muc-Off Honda in sixth place, ahead of 23-time TT winner John McGuinness, while Josh Brookes, Michael Evans and Paul Jordan completed the top ten.
