Team Agni's Rob Barber has taken victory in the first ever TTXGP on his battery-powered, GSX-R chassised bike setting the official lap record of 87.434mph, some ten miles and hour faster than second-placed man Thomas Schoenfelder.
Barber was one of the last away from the line but was leading on the road and on corrected time when he went through Glen Helen, some 28 seconds ahead of Shoenfelder, with James McBride in third.
Schoenfelder went through the Sulby speed-trap at a massive 106.500mph, was that was enough to keep McBride behind him as McBride was second at Ballaugh, 46.19s behind Barber.
The Kettering-based rider didn't make it to Ramsey hairpin as he had to retire, which promoted Schoenfelder back into second with a hard-charging Mark Buckley in third.
The top three remained constant across the mountain and Barber crossed the line some 3'11.43s in front of Schoenfelder with Buckey another 50s in arrears. All three were in the TTX Pro class.
Chris Heath was disqualified and then re-instated as TTX Open class race winner after not knowing he had to sound his horn while under red-flag conditions. Chris Petty was second and John Crellin, who lost his life in the subsequent senior race, was third.
