Former 125cc British champion Chris Palmer completed a rout of all four solo races in a shortened Pre-TT Classic programme over the 4.25-mile Billown Course in the Isle of Man today.
The 50-year-old retained fireman, who lives within earshot of the course in Castletown, took the opening 350cc Singles race in perfect conditions on the Saturday astride a 7R AJS, then splashed his way to three further wins in a rain-hit second day on Bank Holiday Monday.
The four morning races were scrapped as a result, but early afternoon Palmer rode a 350 Drixton Honda to victory in the Junior. Win number three came on a Matchless G50 in the 850cc Classic before completing the rout with another victory on a 250 Yamaha in the Superbike event.
The main Camathias Cup sidecar race was won by Nick Houghton and Paul Thomas on the 996cc Windle BMW, holding off a late charge from Eddy Wright and Neil Wheatley.
