Australian Josh Brookes will fill in for the injured John McGuinness and ride one of the two Jackson Racing Hondas in the TT 2017 Supersport class.
The Bringelly man, who has Norton and KMR Kawasakis to ride in the biggest and smallest classes, had been looking for extra track time at this year’s festival and will add the Honda to his roster, going off at number five.
“I had been hoping that my TAG British Superbike team might be able to field a bike for me but we didn’t manage to pull that off. Because of John’s injury, the Jackson bike became available and it was what I needed to finish off the amount of track time I could realistically get in,” said Brookes, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
“I needed as many laps as possible but I don’t want to interrupt the Norton practices. So with the KMR Lightweight bike and the Jackson ride, I can maximise my track time without it interrupting the Superbike sessions.”
