Michael Dunlop will make a return to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) grid at Oulton Park this weekend on a third Hawk Honda entry.

The Isle of Man TT legend will represent the team at this year’s festival in the Superbike class, joining Hawk Racing in making the switch from ageing Suzuki machinery to the Honda CBR1000RR-R.

To help Dunlop prepare for his upcoming road racing season - which includes an outing at the North West 200 as well - he will swell the Hawk Honda ranks at Oulton Park, competing alongside full-time riders Josh Owens and Charlie Nesbitt.

“I am looking forward to getting on track at Oulton Park this weekend. The track time is important to make sure we are sharp for the roads and it will be good racing against the BSB boys.”

Dunlop heads to the Isle of Man TT aiming to build on the 21 career wins that place him third on the all-time winners’ list behind his uncle Joey Dunlop (26) and John McGuinness (23).

While he faces a tough challenge in the Superbike ranks against current dominant force Peter Hickman (FHO BMW), he is considered the favourite in the Supersport and also Supertwins class, the latter of which will run two races for the first time.
