Update: There is now some doubt over this confirmation from Auto66 with two sources close to Dunlop saying this is absolutely not the case. We will speak to the organisers in the morning.

Michael Dunlop's much-rumoured sidecar debut appears to have taken a step closer to reality after the Auto66 Club announced this afternoon he would be racing an outfit at Oliver's Mount this year.

The younger Dunlop brother has already been testing at Jurby airfield with veteran passenger Dan Sayle who said he showed a lot of potential. Auto66 have said Dunlop will race a sidecar at the Ian Watson Spring Cup meeting on Sunday April 15.
