Michael Dunlop celebrated his new partnership deal with DJ Carl Cox with a win at the rain-hit Cookstown 100 on Saturday.
As a first outing on his new PTR-prepped CBR600RR Supersport machine and Tyco BMW S1000RR Superbike, Dunlop entered the Cookstown 100 event in Co. Tyrone for the first time since 2015, against stiff local competition.
The Ballymoney rider duly took the opening SS600 win at the Orritor circuit and crossed the finishing line first in the Superbike race but was adjudged to be second on corrected times.
The MD Racing team announcement completes the Carl Cox Motorsport Road Racing line up, with Carl also supporting seven-time world Champion Tim Reeves and his passenger Mark Wilkes as the bid for glory at the 2018 Isle of Man TT.
The duo are also competing in the FIM World Sidecar Championship, where they took the series opening win at Le Mans recently.
“It’s fantastic to have Carl back on board for 2018, he’s a mega ambassador for us, and the team couldn’t do what they do without his support. I’m obviously pleased to get that first win on the MD Racing SS600 and I think the bike is looking spot on in its new colours,” said Dunlop.
