Michael Dunlop took a win and a podium at the weekend’s Frohburg meeting as well as breaking the lap record on his Penz13.com BMW S1000RR.
The Ballymoney rider on form all weekend but got let down by an electronics problem in the second race on Sunday. He took third in race one and then stormed to a 3.1s victory in the final race of the day. He also suffered a non-finish in the Saturday race.
“Amazing weekend. Of course, those two DNFs were a pity but my biggest target was to not lay in the hedge, which we accomplished. The podium on Sunday morning was great but also there we had a problem with a dropping rear tire. We did some changes but in the second race I had to stop at the pits as the bike was cutting out,” said Dunlop.
“We got that sorted quickly, changed the suspension once more and then took the win. I am happy, it was a great weekend – especially with all those passionate fans here at Frohburg and of course the whole Penz-Team. It was fun, like to do it again.”
