Roads legend Ryan Farquhar has confirmed his return to big-bike action at the 2015 Isle of Man TT in order to get more bike time in but he will not ride in Supersport as it is too expensive for the return he would get.
The Dungannon rider, who is the most successful Irish roads man in history, reduced his efforts in 2013 after his uncle was killed at the Manx but he says that he needs to get back in the saddle this season.
“To go back to the TT with just the one bike is a waste of time. My intentions last year were to just do a few classic races and ride the Supertwin at selected races but it left me badly on the back foot,” said Farquhar.
“It was a big disadvantage because I wasn’t bike fit but I’m back in training again and I haven’t trained in years, so you can take out of that what you want! I’m not going out there to waste tyres and fuel.”
