Swan Yamaha's Ian Hutchinson is planning to make a return to competition at this year’s Macau Grand Prix in November after surgeons decided the Bingley man did not need as big an operation as was first thought.
Hutchinson went into hospital to have further surgery to remove an infected section of bone in his badly-damaged leg. But when doctors undertook an assessment, they discovered the problem wasn’t anything like as bad as they feared and could be dealt with quickly by doses of hefty antibiotics.
“It is a great news for Hutchy and now we can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel,” said Swan Yamaha boss Shaun Muir, speaking to bikesportnews.com. “He is now concentrating on getting as fit and strong as he can for the Macau Grand Prix and then go from there into a season of internationals in 2013.”
