The 2008 Irish Superbike Championship opener at Bishopscourt on Easter Saturday is being dubbed as a mini Sunflower Trophy, due to both the quality and quantity of entry. Including, runner up in the Maxxis 2008 British Supersport Championship Ian Lowry and his TAS Suzuki team mates Aussie Cameron Donald and Kiwi Bruce Anstey, along with British Championship regulars Marty Nutt, Alaistair Seeley, Marshal Neill and Stephen Thompson.
To add more spice to the entry list there will also be a large turnout of road racers including Ryan Farquhar and Adrian Archibald, along with the regular Irish Championship riders, including reigning Champion Michael Pearson who attended Monday nights Press launch in the Temple Golf Club, along with James Dickson, Kirk Jamison and Scott Kelly.
Newcomer to the Irish Superbike Championship Lincolnshire’s Gary Johnston will also be making the trip to Bishopscourt on board the Uel Duncan machinery.
With an action packed race schedule being promoted jointly by MCRRCI and Killinchy & District MCC the fans will be looking forward to the usual 17 race on the cards including the big money Enkalon Trophy race, where last year’s winner Donald and double winner Seeley will be out to do battle to take another win of this prestigious trophy, while there will be stiff competition for the Strong Construction Superbike and Supersport races along with Isaac Agnew Van Centre Mini Twins race.
